ADMINISTRATOR

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for initiating and coordinating the various aspects of soccer and provide encouragement/support for volunteers and participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain pre-season information to pass on to appropriate coordinators
  • Organize and initiate initial coordinator meetings and facilitate league meetings
  • Coordinate organizing groups, coaches and officials
  • Distribute information from HCL/FSA to the appropriate persons in the HRSA
  • Coordinate age group expectations in terms of rule enforcement and coaching
  • Chair meeting in the fall for election or appointment of HRSA executive
  • Oversee all positions in HRSA
  • Provide yearend feedback and constructive suggestions to the Administrator on possible improvements to the HRSA


COACHES / ASSISTANT COACHES

Coaches require a criminal records check. Please read the information letter for details.

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for instructing soccer skills and sportsmanship and coordinating the smooth management of team activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain proper training
  • Obtain “coach’s kit”
  • Ensure players have shin pads, which can be obtained from shin pad organizer
  • Notify age group coordinator of number and sizes needed
  • Assist age group or travel team coordinators by compiling team lists, practice and game schedules
  • Relay requests for additional equipment and/or uniforms
  • From age group coordinator pick up:
    • Equipment
    • T-shirts (House Team)
    • Uniforms (Travel Team)
    • Phone list/contacts
  • Provide schedules and phone lists to parents
  • Arrange missed games and securing a referee
  • Contact field/ref scheduling coordinator to notify of changes to avoid usage conflict
  • Delegate responsibilities to parents:
    • Phoning
    • Refreshments
    • Field set-up
    • Game sheets (scorekeeping) for Travel Team
    • Transportation Coordinator (Travel Team)
  • Referee confirmation
  • Teach players to play fairly and to respect the rules, officials and opponents
  • Ensure all players get equal instruction, support and playing time
  • Ensure that the equipment and facilities are safe and match the players ages and abilities
  • Work in cooperation with officials and other volunteers for the benefit of the game
  • Return equipment and uniforms (Travel Team only) to age group/travel coordinator
  • Attend yearend party
  • Provide yearend feedback and constructive suggestions to the Administrator on possible improvements to the HRSA.


EQUIPMENT MANAGER

Position Summary:

  • Responsible for the organization distribution and collection of balls and pylons

Responsibilities:

Balls and Pylons:

  • Get equipment form storage unit
  • Check numbers of equipment and inflation of the balls
  • Confirm number of teams per age group and separate equipment for each team into equipment bags
  • Record and sign out equipment to age group coordinators and Travel Team Coordinator
  • Collect equipment at yearend party
  • Confirm number and condition of equipment (forward to Administrator)
  • Put back in storage
  • Provide yearend and constructive suggestions to the Administrator on possible improvements to the HRSA


FIELD MAINTENANCE CREW

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Field Maintenance Coordinator with the following:
    • Ensure fields are safe
    • Mark out fields
    • Field upkeep
    • Moving goals onto fields and seeing to their placement and anchoring them.
  • Provide yearend feedback and constructive suggestions to the Administrator on possible improvements to the HRSA.


FSA CONTACT AND CLINIC ORGANIZER

We are now in the High Country league (under the umbrella of FSA).
HCL is comprised of High River, Nanton, Red Deer Lake, Oilfields, Millarville and Okotoks.

Position Summary:

  • Attend FSA meetings and get pertinent information to the appropriate people in HRST.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend all FSA meetings and record or obtain all necessary information
  • Report back to Administrator and/or Travel Team Coordinator
  • Provide copies (ASAP) of travel team schedules to league coordinators, referee coordinator and Administrator.
  • Register travel teams with HCL.
  • Organize travel team forms and then work with Administrator to decide number of teams participating in HCL.
  • Provide yearend feedback and constructive suggestions to the Administrator on possible improvements to the HRSA.


PICTURE COORDINATOR

Position Summary:

  • Coordinate the pictures and pennants of HRSA

Responsibilities:

At the beginning of season:

  • Tender company to do photos (consult Administrator)
  • Schedule with company a date for pictures (game days) and a retake day (avoid long weekend)
  • Arrange a location and a bad weather alternative (i.e. Catholic Church)
  • Working with a game schedule (see Coordinator) arrange photo schedule
  • ASAP get the following to age group coordinators/travel team coordinators:
    • Date, time, place
    • Team particulars required by photographer (i.e. player line up alphabetical roster)
    • Pickup time (yearend party)

Day of pictures:

  • Attend photo shoot to assist and coordinate
  • Do NOT collect money for photo company

Yearend:

  • Attend yearend party
  • Assist yearend party organizer to distribute pictures and pennants to participants
  • Provide yearend feedback and constructive suggestions to the Administrator on possible improvements to the HRSA.
